The southeastern part of Korea is the richest in the country in terms of tourist attractions. It is full of beautiful landscapes and mysterious legends and it is also the site of the ancient Silla Kingdom from which many relics and magnificent examples of Buddhist culture remain.
SOUTHEASTERN AREA >> Andong

Andong is one of the last living vestiges of old Korea, in which the culture of the yangban (noblemen of the Joseon Dynasty) is well-preserved by Confucian scholars.

About 130 traditional houses large and small, from nobility to commoners, have been well-preserved by the same families for generations. Hahoe has been designated by the government as an village is known for a special form of mask dance drama, Hahoe Talchum, and is the site of a famous shamanistic ceremony, the Byeolsin-gut.

Busan has been Korea's principal international port city since 1878. It is a natural port with modern harbor facilities and a population of 3.8 million, it has excellent beaches, natural scenery, resorts and other tourist attractions.

Jagalchi Fish Market is situated right at dockside, and it comes alive early each morning when the fishermen bring in their catch.
This is a good place to make a good bargains in fish and shellfish.
The colorful spectacle is also a great attraction for tourists and camera buffs.

Gwang-alli Beach is east of Busan and close to downtown. Around the beach are many cafes, restaurants and hotels that produce a romantic neon-lit beach at night. During the day, you can enjoy water sports such as water skiing and boating.

One of the most popular places in Korea to spend a summer vacation, Haewundae Beach is 2 km (1.3 miles) long with a gentle curve, shallow water, perfect facilities and convenient transportation.

Many festivals are held each year at Haewundae Beach, including a Triathlon Championship in October, and a Polar Bear Swim in January.
